It has been estimated that there will be 233,000 new cases and 29,480 deaths from prostate cancer (PCa) in the United States in 2014.1 In 2014, the State of Florida ranks Second behind California in PCa incidence (16,590 estimated new cases).1 Second behind California for mortality (2,170 estimated deaths) from PCa.1 Few studies have investigated the contribution of individual-level and contextual factors to PCa survival. The objective is to identify individual and contextual factors contributing to overall survival among prostate cancer patients in Florida.
